Commercial AND Residential: Comprehensive SB1271 “Next Steps” Advocacy Briefing and Education Program for ALL ASA Contractor Members

ASA of Arizona

SB1271: Now that it’s law, what next?

It’s a question many ASA members are asking. We invite all ASA members to join us for an in-depth advocacy briefing on Wednesday, June 26, from 7:30-9:30 AM at the Lovitt & Touche Learning Academy in Tempe for a deep(er) dive into the facts about SB1271, when it goes into effect, how your business/contracts may be impacted, next steps, the continuation and focus of the Construction Liability Apportionment Study Committee (CLASC), the 2020 priority advocacy agenda for ASA and Arizonans for Fair Contracting, and more.

This is a briefing for every contractor member — regardless of whether your business operates in the commercial or residential construction space. The continuation of the CLASC under the leadership of Senate President Karen Fann will push forward to address issues impacting all members of Arizona’s construction industry that were not addressed in SB1271 and we need you to share the challenges that your company is facing NOW. We also need dedicated members of industry – YOU AND YOUR EMPLOYEES – to support our advocacy efforts by both engaging in grassroots outreach and by contributing financially to help underwrite the cost associated with pursuing change to level the playing field for all members of the construction team.

We need to hear from you. You can help us gather important data prior to the advocacy briefing by email us at asa@asa-az.org with a list of the top three / four issues currently having a negative impact on your business (risk transfer, retention, lien waivers, etc.) with number one being the most important challenge and so forth. If you prefer, you may call me at (602) 274-8979 ext 24.

Click here for online registration and a flier for the June 26th program; please feel free to share it with your fellow employees and industry colleagues.

I hope to see you on June 26th. Your support of ASA and our advocacy efforts is greatly appreciated.
