SUCCESS: SB1271 Passed and Moving to the Governor’s Desk

ASA of Arizona

I am honored to bring you the news that SB1271 as amended in the House of Representatives has just been passed by the Senate with a vote of 29 YES, Zero NO, and 1 not voting. The bill is headed to the Governor’s office for final approval and signature. You can help us push SB1271 past this final hurdle by reaching out to Governor Ducey via the contact page on the Governor’s website . Let him know that this bill is important to you, your company, and its employees and ask him to support Arizona’s construction community by signing SB1271.

Please also reach out to Senate President Karen Fann with a note of thanks for the extraordinary effort she has put into this bill and the work of the Construction Liability Apportionment Study Committee (CLASC) to support the industry. She is a true champion!

Last, but not least, my heartfelt thanks to every ASA member and supporter of Arizonans for Fair Contracting who participated in industry outreach (emails, phone calls, etc.), visits with legislators and who attended committee hearings with us. Your support and participation made a difference!

Now I’m going to do a happy dance and celebrate. 🙂
